Goal: To Augment Study of Oregon Trail Curriculum


Resources: $1,000 from PTA/PTO

  • Whole school performance of early American folk music
  • All-day visit from Pioneer Living hands-on historical exhibit

Resources: $2,500 ($1,000 from PTA/PTO and $1,500 grant)
  • Whole school performance of American folk instruments
  • All-day visit from Pioneer Living hands-on historical exhibit
  • Whole school storytelling performance highlighting characters from the Oregon frontier
  • 1 workshop for each classroom in music and dance from the Oregon Trail

Resources: $5,000 ($1,000 from PTA/PTO, $1,500 grant and $2,500 from Run for the Arts fund)
  • Whole school performance of American folk instruments
  • All-day visit from Pioneer Living hands-on historical exhibit
  • Whole school storytelling performance highlighting characters from the Oregon frontier
  • 1 workshop for each classroom in music and dance from the Oregon Trail
  • 3-session “Sounds from the Oregon Trail“ residency for each classroom

 

 

Goal: To Celebrate Earth Day or Going Green


Resources: $650 from Grant Funds

  • Whole school performance of a local Native American storyteller
  • 3-session "Making Plants Dance" movement residency for each kindergarten class

Resources: $1,200 ($800 from Run for the Arts fund and $400 PTA/PTO)
  • A workshop on "Recycled Puppets" for each 5th grade class
  • Family Arts Night Performance by a band that plays on recycled instruments (e.g. trashcan bass, comb, pencil and washboard
