How to Use Your RFA Funds

Young Audiences places RFA funds raised by YOU into an account reserved for your school’s use. You can spend your Run For The Arts funds for ANY educationally relevant arts programming. Please note that two deductions will be taken out of your account:

  • 7% (of the total amount raised) from your RFA Funds, to help cover the direct program costs
  • the cost of the T-shirts ($7.50 each) earned by the students

Young Audiences' Roster Artists
Funds may be used for performances, residencies and workshops listed in The Educator's Guide to Community Arts Resources.

Cultural Organizations
Additional arts programs provided by regional Cultural Organizations may be purchased using Run funds. Prices are set by the organizations. There is an additional 10% fee for processing.

Community Artists
Community artists or arts organizations and programs not listed in the Educator's Guide may also be purchased with Run funds. Call Young Audiences (503) 225-5900 for the "Non-Roster Artist Application." There is an additional 10% fee for processing.

Teacher Professional Development
Increase teachers' confidence and competency in teaching and integrating the arts through professional development. View the Teacher Calendar for a listing of statewide opportunities. In addition to the registration fee, there is an additional 5% fee for processing. Teacher Workshops listed on artists' pages in the Guide are also excellent staff professional development opportunities. Teacher Workshops are $160. There is no additional fee for processing.

Field Trips
Run funds can help cover the cost of tickets and transportation for field trips to community arts events such as concerts, performances and exhibitions. Tickets or costs are set by the presenting organization. There is an additional 10% fee for processing.
Transportation and busing expenses are set by the vendor. There is an additional 5% fee for processing.

Supplies
A school may use its Run funds to purchase a variety of art supplies and equipment. Expenses will be reimbursed, with an additional 5% fee for processing.

Adopt a School
Increasingly, schools are choosing to allocate some of their Run funds to benefit schools with fewer resources. There is no additional fee for processing the transfer of these funds.
