Get ready for a summer break filled with color and creativity. Our popular Teaching Artist programs have become week-long Art Camps with the goal of connecting kids with their natural creativity for a great day-camp experience.

Talented teaching artists and classroom staff members will introduce campers to a variety of different art media through open ended exploration and project work.

Camps are fully paid for through PPS and are offered free of charge to families.

Woodlawn Elementary School or Markham Elementary School

Each camp week runs Monday through Friday and registration is for a single week of camp.

  • July 11-15 (week 1)

Camp Day Schedule

Drop-off, 9:00 am, Pick up: 3:00 pm

Each day, campers will start the day with group meeting and snack,  spend “studio time” with professional teaching artists in the morning, have a lunch and outdoor break, and then a second studio time with another professional artist in the afternoon.

There will be no early drop off or late pick up available. Please plan accordingly.

Portland Public Schools will provide on-site nutrition services including daily lunches and morning snacks. Campers can choose to bring their own sack lunches if they prefer.

Buses will not be provided. Campers must be dropped-off and picked-up at the camp location.

  • Any campers exhibiting symptoms of COVID or an elevated temperature will not be permitted to stay in camp.
  • Adult camp staff and teaching artists will be fully vaccinated.
  • Young Audiences reserves the right to cancel the remainder of any camp week if CDC guidelines dictate that to be the best action.
